Event Description

Once a year, Appamada offers a residential intensive close to nature. This year we invite you once again to join us at the Red Corral Ranch in Wimberley, about 45 minutes from Austin. This beautiful 1100 acre ranch is right in the midst of the serene beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Its limestone buildings, spacious grounds and walking trails, trees and wildflowers, are perfect for quiet contemplation and shared practice in nature. We will have time together for meditation, dharma talks, cooking and sharing meals, walking outdoors, and gentle movement exercises. This Intensive is five nights and six days.

Cost:

TBD (expected to be $995.) Registration will open in the spring.

This cost includes the intensive plus all food and lodging, but does not include Dana for the teachers.

Appamada is not just the occasional mindful thought or attentive state of mind, it’s actually a commitment to being attentive. It’s more than just a meditative state of mind, it’s more than just being mindful. It has to do with that primary ethical or moral orientation we have in life, with which we bring into being whatever activity we’re engaged in. Whether in formal meditation, in our interactions with other people, in our social concerns, or in our political choices, it’s the energetic cherishing of what we regard as good.
